Highlights After Concluding Our 2026 Fall Season

What a fall season it was and it absolutely flew by! As a coach, it feels impossibly difficult to stop the training with this group after an incredibly productive fall both in our tournaments and practices. Shout out to our players who competed with heart, we are thrilled to share some highlights from the Skidmore Open along with Noah Lewis’ run at the ITA Cup. As we reach the developmental season, we pass the reins to our players as they will continue to identify critical areas of their tennis games to keep sharpening and building as we set our sights on the Spring 2027 dual match season!

Special thank you goes to Anand's grandparents who delivered a special gift

Skidmore Open

This event consisted of 8 nationally ranked teams from around the country and was a blast to compete in. The biggest highlight came from our doubles results where we only dropped one match to a non-Middlebury opponent! In the B Flight Doubles, both of our competing teams made a run to play each other in finals where Nikky Kondamuri and Andy Yim claimed a 7-6(4) victory over Arjun Reiland and Hayden Williams! Moreover, Thehan Wijemanne and Noah Lewis claimed the A Flight Doubles final with a 7-5 win over a Denison pair that had qualified for the ITA Cup in their respective regional. The final title earned by the Panthers was in C Flight Singles, where Anand Sahasrabudhe played some beautifully determined tennis from start to finish winning four straight matches capped off by a 6-4, 6-4 opponent from Bowdoin! We had many more solid matches and wins across the tournament and you can find links here for a full recap and brackets of the tournament.

ITA Cup

Noah Lewis competed with grit and heart in Rome, GA at the ITA cup. Although Noah lost in the first round to the eventual champion, he pushed himself and represented our Panther Squad admirably. He went 1-2 across three singles matches, and happily finished the tournament earning a hard fought three set win over an opponent who had defeated him the week before in Saratoga Springs, NY! Noah’s tenacity and fighting spirit is a great example to our group. The full recap can be found here.

Developmental Season

As we enter this phase, it’s fun to share and provide a shout out to our three seniors who have done an amazing job leading our group so far this year (Noah Lewis, Nikky Kondamuri, and Thehan Wijemanne). The coaches have begun to collaboratively identify the key projects and goals with each player so that we can continue our intentional approach to getting better day by day. The coaches will desperately miss being on court with the boys, but take comfort in providing them more autonomy to take on their own development to keep attacking and progressing!

Panther Challenge: THANK YOU!

We had an amazing turnout and received incredible support for men’s tennis through our Panther Challenge and want to take another opportunity to express our sincere gratitude as a team! These donations are critical to our program and allow us to do what we do!
